Okay, if my nails are done and my skin is exfoliated, I feel on top of the world. Nothing beats a good pamper (especially one you can do yourself!). Heres a DIY feel-great-about-yourself tip! At your local Wal-Mart (Kroger. CVS, whatever) grab some fake nails, whatever color you're feeling that day, and some glue on accents. I always go with stones, but you can find tiny almost anything to glue on. OR you can opt for stickers. DIY BODY SCRUB: 6 tablespoons of granulated sugar, 4 tablespoons of oats, 3 tablespoons of coconut oil, 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar Mix all these ingredients together to get the best natural scrub of your life! Wash away all those dead skin cells and feel brand new again.
Because after all, thats what its about right? Being and feeling brand new. Who else can't function without their morning Joe? 2 cups down the hatch for me this morning! Nothing starts off my day quite like some dark coffee drowned in sugar and creamer. Plus! I have a slight obsession with mugs. I also have a theory that if the first thing you see in the morning is pleasant, your day has a better chance of starting out pleasantly. And who doesn't enjoy a super cute mug to drink out of? Share a picture of your fav mug! Are you a caffein coffee addict in the mornings or a cool and collected tea sipper?
Today I begin my blog. Why? To talk myself, and others, through the horrible memories of bullying and the wounds it leaves behind. I'm hoping that in some small way, sharing my story and journey will help someone out there struggling. This blog site has the title "One Day At A Time" because I've learned that that's how we heal. The URL for this website is rip-the-tide, because just as a surfer "rips" into whatever tide he's given that day, I need to learn how to "rip" into the wounds and into the aftermath of whats happened, to have a happy healthy life. A lot of this has to do with forgiveness; not because they deserve it but because I deserve peace. To anyone else out there who is struggling - YOU deserve peace also.
